July 20, 2023
Wilson Medical Center recently announced that Angela “Ms. Angie” Livingston has been recognized as the facility’s 2023 Mercy Award winner. The Mercy Award recognizes one employee from each of Lifepoint Health’s facilities who profoundly touches the lives of others and best represents the spirit and values on which the company was founded.
The Mercy Award is an annual recognition program that honors the life and contributions of Scott Mercy, Lifepoint’s founding chairman and chief executive officer. The award is considered the highest honor a Lifepoint employee can receive.
In addition, Livingston has been named one of Lifepoint’s 60 semifinalists who will travel to Nashville, Tenn., Aug 23-25 for a Mercy Award celebration.
“At Wilson Medical Center, we share Lifepoint’s commitment to making communities healthier, and we recognize this is supported by the good work and service of our employees on and off the job,” said Chris Munton, CEO of Wilson Medical Center. “We are extremely proud to recognize Ms. Angie for her efforts on behalf of our patients and our community. Ms. Angie goes above and beyond each and every day to ensure that every person she encounters receives the highest level of care and compassion.”
Livingston has been a staff member at Wilson Medical Center for 46 years. She serves as the facility’s Visitors Assistance Representative. Over the years, Livingston has become the most recognizable face at the facility, greeting and assisting visitors with the utmost courtesy and professionalism. Livingston is also a volunteer on the missions team at Leventon Chapel Freewill Baptist Church, where she is known to help out in any way possible, often celebrating others without asking for any recognition. She also serves at a local funeral home, where she works as a receptionist.
