Duke Telestroke Network
Wilson Medical Center is part of the Duke Telestroke Network.
Every second counts during a stroke. So when a stroke strikes, Act F.A.S.T.
Face: Smile. Does one side of the person’s face droop?
Arms: Raise both arms. Does one arm drift downward?
Speech: Repeat a sentence. Can the person speak clearly. Can he or she repeat the sentence?
Time: Time is critical. Call 911 and get to the hospital immediately.
Our Super Telemedicine Access Robot (S.T.A.R.) links our hospital with Duke Telestroke Network and Duke neurologists and stroke experts. If you or a loved one comes to our emergency room with stroke-like symptoms, your health care team here connects to Duke experts immediately. Our 24/7 team approach with Duke offers you and your loved ones faster evaluation, diagnosis and treatment.
Our partnership is another way Wilson Medical Center is committed to providing high-quality care close to home.
