What was your inspiration for getting into healthcare?
From a child playing the role of a nurse during pretend play and dress up, I knew nursing was in my heart. I have always wanted to care for people. As I got older realizing the slightest impact you can make taking care of someone when they are most vulnerable, I knew nursing was what I was called to do.How long have you been employed?
I have been at WMC for two years.Have you always been in the same position?
No. I have been an OR nurse, an ICU nurse, a case manager, and my most recent role serving as the Infection Prevention Coordinator here at WMC.What are some of your interests outside of work?
I enjoy spending time with my children (9) and (6) years old. My family and I can usually be found downtown at a local event, on the ball field, or watching our daughter perform. I enjoy the local arts and any and everything outside. What do you like most about working at WMC?
Wilson is home. I was born at this facility, and for most of my life, I have lived right here in Wilson County. The people we get the privilege of taking care of are people from right here in our community. They are the relatives or friends of friends. After working at larger facilities, it is nice to work at a smaller facility where everyone is a familiar face. The atmosphere is that of a family.
