RSV Visitor Restrictions Implemented at Wilson Medical Center
December 5, 2019
Effective December 5, Wilson Medical Center has implemented visitor restrictions on 2 East due to an increase in Respiratory Synctial Virus (RSV) cases in our community, as well as in the hospital. RSV is a serious respiratory virus that infects lungs and breathing passages, especially those of infants and older adults. It is also the most common cause of pneumonia in children less than 1 year old.
Visitor restrictions apply to 2 East which includes nursery, pediatric patients and post-partum mothers.
Restrictions include:
- No visitors under the age of 12 may visit
- Do not visit if you are coughing, sneezing, have a fever or sore throat. If you must visit with any of these symptoms, a yellow mask must be worn.
These restrictions are in place for the safety and well-being of pediatrics and newborn patients, as well as our visitors.
Thank you for helping to implement these restrictions so we can continue to provide a safe environment for all our patients, especially our most vulnerable ones.
