Due to the rise in COVID-19 cases in our community, Wilson Medical Center is updating our visitor policy. Our top priority is safeguarding the health and wellbeing of our patients, providers, employees and community. As cases continue to rise within our community, we have revised our visitor policy as follows:

• Visiting hours are 9 am – 7 pm.
• Patients are limited to one designated well visitors per day (no swapping allowed).
• Visitors must be 18 years or older.
• All visitors are screened upon entry.
• No visitors will be permitted for COVID-19 positive patients.
• Exceptions may be granted for end-of-life patients, pediatric patients under the age of 12 and other special circumstances.
• Patients may have one visitor spend the night as appropriate.
• Visitors are required to properly wear a face mask or cloth face covering properly at all times. Gaiter face coverings are not allowed.

REDUCED ENTRY POINTS

• We have limited access to two points of entry:
• Main entrance – Monday through Friday, 5 am – 7 pm and Saturday and Sunday, 9 am – 7 pm
• Emergency Department – open 24/7

Friendly Expressions Gift Shop and Ladwig Chapel are currently closed.

We ask that anyone who is not feeling well or has any symptoms consistent with COVID-19 please refrain from visiting the hospital unless seeking medical care.

We encourage everyone to continue to follow the safety measures to help stop the spread of COVID. Continue to wash your hands frequently, wear a face mask, social distance and get the vaccine if you are able.

Sydney Wilkinson, Infection Prevention Coordinator, said "Majority of our hospitalized patients across the country are individuals who have not received the COVID-19 vaccination. While no vaccine is 100% effective and those who do receive the COVID-19 vaccine may still get COVID, greater than 95% of those individuals will not required hospitalization. It is not too late for individuals to get the vaccine and we are strongly encouraging anyone who is unvaccinated to make an appointment. There are numerous community resources providing the vaccine, including most major pharmacies and the Wilson County Health Department."
