Wilson Medical Center is pleased to welcome nurse practitioner, Brittany Fulghum, to the Wilson Physician Services team.

Fulghum is a certified adult gerontology nurse practitioner (AGNP-C) and is practicing with Mamun Shahrier, M.D., at Wilson Gastroenterology located at 2605 Forest Hills Road in Wilson.

Fulghum received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) from East Carolina University in Greenville, and completed her Masters of Science in Nursing and AGNP-Primary Care degree at Duke University School of Nursing in Durham.

Fulghum has been part of the Wilson Medical Center for the last ten years, beginning her nursing career as a nurse extern in 2010. After completing her externship, she worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant and then a Registered Nurse after she completed her BSN. Fulghum has spent the last five years as Recovery Room nurse.

She specializes in colorectal cancer screening, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), inflammatory bowel disease, pancreatitis, celiac disease, irritable bowel syndrome and liver disease.

Fulghum is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB).

A Wilson native, Fulghum currently lives here with her husband Justin and their 2-year-old daughter Brooklyn.
