Wilson Medical Center is pleased to welcome John Wechter, M.D., a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, to Wilson Regional Orthopedics. Dr. Wechter joins Lawrence Yenni, M.D., and Christian Selby, PA-C, at Wilson Regional Orthopedics located at 1700 Tarboro Street SW, Suite 205.

Dr. Wechter is fellowship-trained in hand and upper extremity surgery. He specializes in arthritis of the hips, knees and shoulders, hand conditions (including carpal tunnel syndrome), shoulder pain and weakness, fractures and trauma, and pediatric arm and hand disorders.

Dr. Wechter received his medical degree from Michigan State University College of Medicine in East Lansing, MI. He completed his residency at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis and his Hand Surgery Fellowship from HealthPartners Minnesota.

He and his wife Katie have four children ages 12, 7, 5 and 1. Dr. Wechter enjoys wrestling and previously competed on the U.S. National Team. He is also an art enthusiast and does medical illustrations on the side.
